Slip Tube Team – BiosOur team at Slip Tube consists of welders, fabricators, designers and installers.
David Pereira — Co-Owner/President
Prior to establishing Slip Tube, David was in charge of pulp mill start-ups and recycling/waste management operations. After investing in several Slip Tube shelters for these operations, he realized Slip Tube structures were a practical necessity in the industry. David partnered with Allen Lee, the company’s founder, and took over sole proprietorship in 2007.
When David’s not on a job site or in the office, you’ll likely find him golfing and repairing his divots. When he’s not on the links, he’s devoting time to his other passions: family, friends and travel.
Jeff Smith — Co-Owner/CEO
Jeff was previously operations manager for his family-operated home improvement company until the sudden passing of his father and subsequent closure of the business 2014. Jeff brings a wealth of knowledge to Slip Tube and has his hands in all aspects of the business including but not limited to design, quoting, managing employees and installation. Jeff became a partner in Slip Tube in 2018.
Jeff enjoys travelling, camping, golfing and fishing with his amazing wife and two young boys. He coaches his son’s lacrosse teams in Delta because, in his words, he is too old and banged up to play himself. Jeff’s parents, Tom and Janet Smith, have had immeasurable influence on his successes.
Richard — Sales Manager
Richard spent 20 years in the hotel industry with 10 years in department head and directors’ roles as well as 10 years in sales. When the opportunity arose to take on the position of Sales Manager at Slip Tube he jumped in with two feet and has not looked back! Richard can usually be found spending time with his two wonderful children Logan and Lily as well as hiking, cycling, and running with his fiancé Michelle.
Neil Patel — Installation Manager
Neil has been with SlipTube for 3 years and has been Installation Manager for 1. He has a deep knowledge of Slip Tube buildings and the ability to think on his feet when inevitable challenges come up during installations. He likes working for Slip Tube because the people here are awesome! When he is not working he enjoys working on cars and spending time with his friends, family and sweet old dog, Tank.
Cody — Installer
Cody is one of our lead installers with 4 years of experience building Slip Tube greenhouses and shelters. He enjoys travelling for work, seeing many places that he may never have otherwise visited. It means a lot to Cody to be contributing to local farmers who are growing food for our communities. His sense of humour makes Cody a fun addition to any crew. When he is not working, Cody enjoys painting and skateboarding.
Andrew — Installer
Andrew has been with Slip Tube for a year now and is a reliable fast learner. He enjoys working at different locations and figuring out how to adapt to all the moving parts of Slip Tube installations. He also likes the team he works with and that “management really cares about the success of the company and its workers”. When he is not working, Andrew is an artist with drawing, sketching and tattooing as his main mediums. His one big dream is to travel to as many countries and experience as many cultures as he possibly can.
Gyula — Installer
Gyula was born in Romania and moved to Canada in 2006 at age 18. Gyula has such a positive attitude, he loves the adventure and challenge of building in different locations and climates. He loves seeing happy customers’ faces when they complete a build. When he is not working, he enjoys cycling and spending time with family.
Barry — Installer
Barry brings to Slip Tube experience from 15+ years in the construction industry, which has made him a quick asset to our install team. When asked what he likes about working at Slip Tube, he responded that “the people here are great, good working environment and diversity in the work”. In his spare time, Barry enjoys building and/or working on vehicles.
Imam — Welder
Imam is an experience welder who is up to any Slip Tube task. Happily married with two kids, his passion is travelling together with his family. Imam holds all CWB tickets and has the ability to weld anything we design to the highest standards.
Inder — Welder

Matthew — Welder
Born in Prince Rupert, BC, Matt has been with Slip Tube since 2009, and is an integral member of our success. With our status as a custom shop, Matt is familiar with our fittings and can make/invent the most innovative (and sometimes craziest) thing we ask of him. Matt always has a smile on his face and keeps the mood in the shop light-hearted. Matt lives in Surrey, BC, and enjoys watching Canuck games. One big dream: he hopes they can win a Stanley Cup in his lifetime.
Patti — Bookkeeper
Patti is an invaluable member of our team who manages the day-to-day operations of our accounts and much of our purchasing. Although Patti is only a part-time employee, her dedication is unwavering — a testament to the excellent job she performs on her days in the office. Not to mention, the shop always smells much nicer when Patti is at work.
When she’s not running a tight ship, Patti enjoys spending time with her two beautiful daughters and loves travelling, going to concerts, golfing, cooking, and entertaining family and friends.
Leanne — Book keeper
Leanne brings 40 years of bookkeeping experience with her to Slip Tube. She is detail oriented and an extremely hard worker. When Lee is not working she can be found day drinking on the golf course, brushing up on celeb gossip, or spending time with her many nieces and nephews!
Robyn — Sales and Admin
Robyn is part owner of Slip Tube. She brings years of sales, service and people management experience to her role here, which consists of a little bit of everything. When she’s not at work, she’s a busy mom of two young boys. When she has a moment to herself, she enjoys softball, volleyball, snowboarding and cooking with a great bottle of wine!
